At 14%, the Czechs were the second largest
group of tourists who visited Altmarkt-
Galerie last year after the Japanese. This
is not only due to the proximity of the
Czech border (which is less than 50km from
Dresden) but also the result of special marketing
measures. These include a Czech
version of the website, billboards on the
main roads approaching Dresden on both
sides of the border and the distribution of
pocket guides at the main railway station.
In addition, targeted PR activities are carried
out to ensure that Altmarkt-Galerie is
frequently mentioned in the Czech regional
press.
